The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that the initial orthodontic evaluation should occur at the first sign of orthodontic problems. This may be as early as age 7 in many cases.
Your family dentist may recognize the problem or Dr Hilty welcomes the chance for an early evaluation of any child. Growth and development of the teeth and facial structures is a fascinating science.
As a result of this initial evaluation, your child may be placed in an observation/recall status until the most advantageous age to begin treatment has been reached. Dr Hilty may recommend an early phase of treatment. The benefits of an early phase of treatment will be to decrease the overall treatment time or improve the final result.
